Dyk ned i en verden af højteknologi og fiktion

Science fiction har været en velkendt genre i godt 100 år, men genren trækker tråde flere hundrede år tilbage, og allerede i 1700-tallet findes tekster, der i høj grad har træk af science fiction.
Science fiction har flere kendetegn, men den vigtigste er, at det tager udgangspunkt i (natur)videnskaben. Science fiction indeholder ofte samfund, der er præget af højteknologi, og om handlingen foregår i en nær eller fjern fortid eller en nær eller fjern fremtid, kan variere fra værk til værk.
Flere science fiction-bøger er gennem de senere år blevet filmatiseret, nogle med større succes end andre, og filmatiseringerne er ofte med til, at et nyt og større publikum får øjnene op for de originale værker.
