The target group of this book are general surgeons with trauma training, orthopedic surgeons, pediatric surgeons, including residents as well as advanced surgeons. The book intends to convey basic principles of soft-tissue handling after orthopedic trauma. It is neither a book for plastic/reconstructive surgeons nor a book to train orthopaedic surgeons to become plastic/reconstructive surgeons. Both residents and advanced orthopedic surgeons often lack basic knowledge on the soft tissues. It is important to address this and at the same time give hints at what is possible in soft-tissue management without dwelling on procedures that most orthopedic surgeons will not be able to perform themselves.
