This reissue contains two works by the botanist Maria Elizabetha Jacson (1755–1829). She recast her 1797 account of the Linnaean system, originally aimed at children, as Botanical Lectures for adults in 1804, and the more practical Florist's Manual for female gardeners was published in 1816.
