When Jonathan Harker visits Transylvania to help Count Dracula with the purchase of a London house, he makes a series of horrific discoveries about his client. Soon afterwards, various incidents unfold in England: an apparently unmanned ship is wrecked off the coast of Whitby; and, a young woman discovers strange puncture marks on her neck.
Did it take me approximately 1,5 years to finish this book? Yes. Is it one of my favorite books now? Also yes.
Dracula is such an amazing book, appropriate for every genre. There’s love, horror, travel diary, detective work, mythical creatures, mental asylum, a cowboy, symbols for queer people, forbidden desires, and so on - whatever you could possibly think off
