Turbine er beliggende få meter fra havnebassinet i Aarhus Havn og udgiver hvert år over 400 titler med et team på omkring 15 medarbejdere. Forlagets sortiment spænder bredt fra børnebøger til krimier, kogebøger, spændende romaner og fagbøger for både brede og snævre målgrupper. Udgivelser til uddannelsesinstitutioner er samlet under Turbine Undervisning, som kan udforskes på turbine-undervisning.dk. Siden grundlæggelsen i 2004 i Filmbyen, Aarhus, har forlaget etableret sig som en betydelig aktør blandt Danmarks store forlag og har modtaget tre Gazelle-priser fra Dagbladet Børsen.
Turbine er især kendt for at udgive bøger om strik og hækling, og blandt deres mest populære udgivelser finder du fx Islandsk strik og Strik med ét enkelt fed.
Derudover arbejder Turbine aktivt for, at størstedelen af deres udgivelser er klimaneutrale eller klimakompenserede, hvilket angives på bøgernes bagside. Klimaaftrykket beregnes fra trykstart til levering i Haslev, herunder råvareproduktion og energiforbrug i produktionen.
