This 1914 biography of John Baskerville was published by Josiah Benton, an American lawyer. Baskerville began working as a type-founder and printer around 1750, and the quality of his books - including the Bible and Milton's Paradise Lost - made them collectors' items. Benton provides here an appendix listing his own collection.
