Published in 1889, this journal recounts the voyage made by Richard Collinson (1811–83) in 1850–5 to discover the fate of Franklin's 1845 expedition and to locate the North-West Passage from the 'other side', via Bering Strait. Collinson made a significant contribution to the geographical knowledge of the region.
