Charles Isenberg (1806–64) and Johann Ludwig Krapf (1810–81) were Anglican missionaries who in 1839 travelled to the Abyssinian kingdom of Shoa. Their journals, published in 1843, describe their experiences among the people of Ethiopia. The book begins with an important geographical account of the region by James MacQueen.
