A student of architectural draughtsmanship under Augustus Charles Pugin, Benjamin Ferrey (1810–80) gained first-hand knowledge of the Pugins, with whom he boarded for seven years. Originally published in 1861, this important biography celebrates the artist father and architect son who played an instrumental role in nineteenth-century Britain's Gothic Revival.
