This book deals with proverbs in two different languages: Spanish and Danish. A thorough research into the origins of these proverbs is undertaken and an analysis is made of a large quantity of analogue proverbs. No other book has hitherto addressed this issue and the theme must be seen in a wider context as part of a larger project with the object of creating a body of analogue proverbs in other countries as well.
Refranes Españoles has its main target group among translators, lecturers and students, especially those with a main interest in Scandinavian and Hispanic languages.
