Originally published in 1904, this book presents vocabularies for the Kamba and Kikuyu languages, with a facing-page Swahili vocabulary, aimed at English speakers. The object in publishing a Swahili vocabulary parallel with the Kamba and Kikuyu was to emphasise the intimate relationship between the three languages.
