Following a medical career, James Henry (1798–1876) focused on the study of Virgil's Aeneid, visiting libraries across Europe. Prepared for press by others after his death, this monumental multi-volume commentary, published between 1873 and 1892, remains a landmark in Virgilian scholarship. Volume 4 (1889) covers Books X-XII.
