John O'Keeffe (1747–1833), the Irish playwright who wrote a string of successful comic operas and farces including Wild Oats (1791), for the London stage, published this two-volume memoir in 1826. In Volume 2, O'Keeffe recounts his successful years in London and his eventual retirement from theatre life.
